2nd Place, Senior Mulvihill, 2024 US Nationals, Dev Goda
We found this model in the estate of Jim Walston (of Walston Retrieval Systems fame). It was built, and presumably designed by the late Bob Baker, one of the founding members of Thermal Thumbers of Metro Altanta. The plans were drafted directly from the model which is believed to be well over 40 years old (Bob passed away circa 1982). Skinny Minny is a compact (yes, 50″ is actually compact), robust Mulvihill with a thin, deeply undercambered airfoil. It would excel in windy conditions with its spruce wing spars, but is plenty light enough to remain competitive. This would be an excellent first Mulvihill or all weather model for the expert flier.
