The legendary Tech Flier continues to win TSA Flight competitions and introduce new generations of students and adults to the wonder of rubber powered free flight! Our latest version of the Tech Flyer is the most advanced yet, featuring self-keying, fully adjustable construction which allows you to optimize easily for extreme levels of flight performance.
The current Tech Flyer is a monoplane specifically designed to meet the specifications of the 2025-2026 Technology Student Association (TSA) “Flight Endurance” rules set for high school competitions. It features an efficient IFFS 6 inch propeller that requires no modifications for legal competition. The model is sized to fit inside the TSA-specified storage box with minimal dissassembly. This is a robust, reliable design based on Josh Finn’s two decades of successful indoor endurance flying and builds close to the 7g minimum weight (prototype was 6.8g before ballasting to the required 7g). Flight times of nearly 3 minutes are possible in an average gym with gentle warping of the propeller blades on a well built model
Includes parts/materials for two (2) complete monoplanes and Tan Supersport rubber.
Tools/materials required: rubber lubricant, winder, CA glue (or Duco/Ambroid/Sigment), 3M-77 spray adhesive, vaseline, razor blades, sandpaper, ruler, scissors. Don’t forget a storage box!
Optional: Torque meter, turns counter (volareproducts.com), scale, forceps.
Use 1/16″ Tan Supersport for power.
