Description

Do you feel the need for speed? Do you want it on a budget? Then Red Shift II is the airplane for you!

The end result of 3 years of development and testing, Red Shift II is one of the fastest sub-20″ R/C models ever and features a never before seen interchangeable rocket/electric power propulsion option which allows the user to launch on rocket power without even removing the electric system. Additional glide performance in rocket model is easily available by removing the motor and inserting the glider nose cone. Alternatively, you can quickly remove the rocket pod for extra performance under electric power.

Red Shift II is capable of nearly 100 mph on electric power and much higher speeds under rocket power.

Required equipment:

Emax 1306-3100, 4000, or equivalent
3 sub micro servos (Turnigy 3-4g, Blue Arrow 3013, or equivalent)
2s-4s lipo, 200-300 mah
6-10A esc (make sure your speed controller can handle the cell count you choose)
3.5×5 2 blade prop (such as the Gemfan bullnose)
4+ channel micro full range receiver

Recommended rocket powerplants: Estes C6-0 (requires shimming, but provides slow, predictable launches), C11-0, and D12-0. Also Aerotech D7 and E6RCT reloads and single use motors provide safe launch speeds.

Caution: this is not a beginner’s model, or even novice level. It requires careful attention in both building and flying. If you are not comfortable with small, extremely fast airplanes, you should fly something a little slower or larger before attempting to fly this aircraft.
